Decent performance, Unique white Gorilla Glass finish, Full HD touchscreen
Expensive, Slightly below average battery life
The Acer Aspire S7 is a curious beast, and sure to divide opinion. In theory, the idea of a touchscreen notebook that can't transform into a full tablet seems like a missed opportunity. But after using the S7 for a while, it makes much more sense. The a...
Beautifully designed, super-slim, Superb Full HD touch screen, Good connectivity
Noisy, Poor battery life, Sharp edges and awkward to open
Acer has produced what we can easily call its most attractive laptop ever with the Aspire S7 13-inch Ultrabook. This incredibly slim and sleek laptop sports a stunning design that combines glass and metal to great effect, without sacrificing power or conn...
Gorgeous exterior, 1080p screen and good viewing angle, thin, light, responsive touchscreen, included leather envelope carry case, backlit keys, loads fast
Too expensive, small trackpad lacks response to defter touches, shallow key presses, key backlighting isn't uniform, fairly average battery life
Acer's got the S7's exterior design locked down, the slender design, low weight and 1080p screen are each huge plus points. But under the hood the Intel Core i5 processor isn't much to shout about for the near-£1200 price tag. The S7 doesn't have any *...
We won’t name names, but some Windows Ultrabook makers have completely ripped off Apple’s design (Oh go on then: we mean you, Asus). The Aspire S7 doesn’t suffer from this: it may be thin and light with a tapering chassis, but its metal frame and white lacquered top give it its own unique style, and it’s one we’re quite taken with. Acer’s managed to stuff plenty of ports into the slim frame too:
While we like the design of the Acer Aspire S7, we’re a bit baffled by some of the nonsense Acer’s scrawled on it around the keyboard. We doubt you’ll feel the need to be constantly reminded that it’s been “Professionally Tuned”, or that the sound has been “Dolby Home Theater”-ified.But that’s a minor issue. The S7’s greatest sin is its trackpad. It’s loose and unresponsive in a way that’ll leave
The Acer Aspire S7 has lots going for it: Windows 8 on a touchscreen works a treat, and its design is all its own. But in a world where a similarly sized MacBook Air costs as little as £850, there seems little point in bothering with rivals priced well...
Extremely slim, Attractive white design, Touchscreen for Windows 8, Full HD display, Capacious hard drive
Expensive, Not fantastic performance for the money, Trackpad isn't very responsive
At 11.9mm, the Acer Aspire S7 is incredibly slim and looks fantastic in its crisp, white suit. The addition of the touchscreen means that navigating through Windows 8's big tiles is delightfully simple. Sadly though, its performance, while good, isn't ...
Quick startup & shutdown, Great performance from the CPU, RAM and SSD, Slim (1.19 cm) and lightweight (1.28 kg), Full HD IPS touchscreen, Low heat, Quality finish
Gets loud (between 45 and 50 dB(A)) when the fan kicks in, Poor quality speakers, Glossy screen with inaccurate colours
Initially, we were sceptical about the idea of a touchscreen laptop that doesn't fold into a tablet. And yet, the Aspire S7-391 convinced us that it will win some people over with its good processing power and touchscreen that's more for occasional use th...

Sammanfattning: What do you need from a laptop? For some it just needs to look more gorgeous than anyone else's.This latter point is behind some of the success of the lovely, high performance MacBook Air. For all its great capabilities, most users increasingly wanted ...

Sammanfattning: Microsoft and hardware partner Acer are hoping to usher in a brave new world of touch-control Windows computing. An interesting part of that strategy is the touch-screen laptop, and the Acer Aspire S7-391 is the first such machine we've seen in production...
Though the Acer Aspire S7-391-9886 is a very good choice for the "money is no object" buyer, some quirks and a brief battery life keep this ultrabook from true greatness....
