Portable, yet, full Windows 8, Pairs well with keyboard dock, Free Office license
Heavy and plasticky, Colours look washed out, Expensive
The Iconia W3 was always going to impress on being a record-breaker alone, and having played with it, we can see a lot of great benefits in having Windows 8 in the palm.But while this could give the OS the big kick it's been waiting for, it currently feel...
Sammanfattning: With the Iconia W3, its new 8.1-inch Windows 8 tablet, Acer is hoping to put a fully-functioning desktop in the palm of your hand and wipe out the need for the iPad mini or Nexus 7 at the same time. It seems it might well have achieved exactly that. The...
Sammanfattning: Lisa Gade reviews the Acer Iconia W3 8″ Windows 8 tablet. The Iconia W3 runs full Windows 8 32 bit on a 1.5GHz Intel Atom dual core CPU with 2 gigs of RAM and 32 or 64 gigs of flash storage. That's the same internals used on 10″ and 11.6″ Windows 8 tablet...

Too small to be useful as a full-blown Windows machine, Performance isn't great, Screen
Acer's Iconia W3 tablet will appeal to those of you who have longed for a tiny Windows 8 tablet. It's an Atom-based device with a low screen resolution and it should be used strictly for consumption tasks such as Web browsing, watching video, listening to...

The Acer Iconia W3 should be an ideal example of what full Windows 8 can do against the more consumption-centric iPad or plethora of not-always-quite-right Android tablets.The Iconia W3 also has an optional keyboard dock, but I didn't get to test that, so...

If you want a tablet for consumption and not content creation, then a 7- to 8-inch tablet will suit you quite nicely. The same can be said for the Acer Iconia W3: great for consumption, not so much for creation...
Proper version of Windows 8 in a small size; Despite plastic build, feels surprisingly solid; Reasonably quick; Decent battery life;
Low grade screen; Display feels pixelated and hard to look at; Out of the 32GB storage, you only get 9GB once Windows is installed; No keyboard dock included in the package; Doesn't use microUSB to charge from;
It's a shame that the weakest part of the Iconia W3 is the screen, because it's not a bad tablet by any stretch of the imagination outside of that mediocre part.Overall, it's relatively fast – or as fast as what everyone else is producing in Atom-based ta...

Parts of the Windows 8 experience work surprisingly well in the Acer Iconia W3, which is a smaller 8-inch tablet. The carry-along keyboard is clever, and battery life is excellent for a non-Haswell system
Outside of tile-based Windows 8 apps, navigation is a pain. Screen quality is exceptionally poor, and the keyboard dock lacks a touch pad or even a track point
The smaller 8-inch Windows 8 tablet is a form worth exploring, and the Acer Iconia W3 can be fun to use, but it's also buggy and held back by shortcuts and lackluster features....

Poor screen quality, Not exactly a value for money proposition, No snap mode due to low resolution
So is the Iconia W3 a usable 8-inch Windows 8 tablet? Well software wise, Microsoft has made the operating system touch-friendly with the Modern UI layer. We didn't face any problems with Modern apps that are optimised for touch devices. Even though there...
