The LG BX580 is an excellent Blu-ray player in both 2D and 3D. However, the fact that you can hear its cooling fan during quiet moments and the absence of 7.1 analogue audio outputs mean it can't quite hope for our top score....
The BX580’s standout feature is its 3D compatibility: slide in a 3D Blu-ray and you’re rewarded with images invested with a beautiful sense of depth – although there’s nothing in the 3D performance to make this player preferable to other 3D Blu-ray decks. 2D image quality is superb, however, with vivid colours and razor-sharp detail from both Blu-ray movies and upscaled standard def DVDs. Sammanfattning: LG is very much in the front line for the big 3D push this year with both passive and active 3D TV solutions available. This is the brand’s first 3D Blu-ray player and it’s quite a looker. Designed to compliment LG’s narrow framed Infinia TVs, it sport...
