AOpen has delivered an adequate drive for those of us who require +/- support, and at a very nice price point of $75 USD. Although the drive is not as fast as the ASUS, it is a suitable drive for those of us who dont burn DVDs 24x7 as the MIAA thinks...

Overall I’m extremely satisfied with the performance and feature set of the DRW-8800 AAN Dual drive. I was able to obtain the expected performance from a 8x DVD+R and 4x DVD+RW drive. There were no compatibility problems with a 4x DVD-R that I tried...
